Our Baby’s First Haircut and Halloween Fun
Happy Monday Ya’ll! How was your weekend? Ours was rainy! I mean rain, rain, rain! We still managed to have a fun and low-key weekend. As I am sure you catch on by the title, Mason got his first haircut and our neighborhood took part in trick or treating this weekend! Here are the details……
Saturday morning I missed the gym for the first time in weeks. I was a bit bummed. I wanted to let DC sleep in because he had a rough week at work. Plus it was raining so much. We have lived on an island so long that I totally get in a mood over the rain now.
Once everyone was up, we got ready and out the door pretty early to beat the Saturday rush at the barbershop. I was a bit nervous just walking in but we really don’t have much of a choice here.
It started off with tears right when we put him in the car, so daddy sat down with him and I quickly pulled out the suckers that we bought just for the occasion. The tears were gone in 10 seconds but he was not cool with the apron, so we just went with it.
For the rest of the appointment, he was good. He wasn’t super still. He was too busy looking around everywhere.
Now our baby boy looks like a big boy!
Trick or Treating Night!
Our community sets a night and time for trick or treating. We were excited all day but as the time grew closer the rain came in heavier and heavier. In the end, we decided that since Mason really didn’t understand what was going on it just wasn’t worth getting him out it the cold rain.
It was a bit of a bummer we all didn’t get dressed up and that we did not get to see all the decorations in the community. It was fun though to watch Mason hand out bags of cookies to all the brave souls that faced the rain to go trick or treating.
Better to give than receive right?
These Japanese ladies loved Mason so much! They just kept saying “kawaii”, which means cute in Japanese.
We a busy day! I woke up at 5:30 and started cooking right away. It was our month to cook for the single and accompanied members of the church. An hour later the boys were up and I was feeding them breakfast. From then on it was a whirlwind of cooking, cleaning, and getting ready for church. We didn’t get home from church till almost 2. Mason was wind from trying to stay awake. While he took a nap I send out some emails and started this post.
Then I should have been doing something more productive but I decided to read in bed before Mason woke up. This book really makes me feel better about myself! =)
Question: What was the highlight of your weekend?
