Happy Tuesday Friends! I once again went MIA on the weekend wrap-up. Honestly, I just did not have a lot to share. We did not go much exciting and I really propose disconnected for the weekend. While I love social media it is nice to just take a break from it and worry about taking pictures of our fun. Instead, I’ve just been living in the fun. We do have BIG plans next weekend so I will be sharing that for sure! So, instead of the weekend wrap as normal, I wanted to do a little coffee date with you guys. So let’s catch up and share!
First, let’s talk about the food. If we were on a coffee date I would vote for a couple of donut holes to go along with. While I do not like sweet coffee drinks, I do like sweet treats with my coffee. What about you? Do you like black coffee or all the sugar and cream? Donuts or donut holes?
I would talk about some traveling coming up. Flying always makes me so nervous. Now flying with Mason brings a whole new level of anxiety with it! Not just because I am afraid it could be a lonnggg flight that because I want to protect him from harm. I would also ask you for any and all of the travel tips with a little one. I flew with him when he was 5 month alone, but 15 months is a whole new ballgame!
I would also mention I am burnt out of school. Then I would ask to you tell me to get over it and remind me it is almost all done!
I would share with you how I have a desire to branch out in my career right now but especially how and what is a bit fussy. I love being a radiologic technologist but I cannot do that in Japan. I also love working with Beautycounter and do not see giving that up. Lastly, (and probably most importantly) I am really loving and feel at peace staying mom with Mason. I love being DC’s wife and Mason’s momma! It is and will always be my most important job and I feel this is where they need me right now. Today, though being at home does not mean you cannot have a career and an impact. I love health, wellness, and supporting others. So many ideas but no clear vision.
I would also want to know of any good books. I am reading Humble Roots,Crazy Rich Asians, and I have Confessions of a Domestic Failure but I haven’t started it yet. I will be on a part from school during our vacation so perfect time to catch up on some good reads.
I would also ask if you had any recommendations on places to order Christmas presents. I know it is so early but I like to get a jump-start because we have to ship presents home the first week in December at least to ensure they receive it on time. The last 4 years we have chosen to purchase Christmas presents from organizations that give back. One year we purchased ceramic tiles from a local in the Azores where we lived. Last year we chose the Nozomi Project to purchase ornaments. This year I am thinking about Thistle Farms. I also like to purchase from individuals that sell products on Etsy.
Aren’t they beautiful? Nozomi women are creating one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry featuring broken pieces of pottery left in the wake of the tsunami and other up-cycled pottery. These women are women that have been through broken times. There motto is ‘beauty in brokenness”.
Any thoughts or ideas on great organizations that give back?
On a different note ThredUP is running an ENDLESS SUMMER SALE 20% OFF USE CODE: CHILL20. Check it out here.
I would end with thanking you for letting me ramble.
Question: Do you spell donut or doughnut? Do you love to fly or not so much? What books are you reading that I should?
