Friday Faves….back to real life…kinda

Hey Friends and Happy Friday! This week has been a long one right? We are somewhat back to real life over here but at the same time so far from it. Mason’s sleep has been a hot mess! Well, honestly I should not complain too much. The first two nights altering arriving back home in Japan he woke up hungry at 2 a.m.Β This is about lunch time in the States so I cannot blame him. Then the next two mornings he was waking up around 4-5 a.m. I normally wake up about this time anyway but I really love to have the first hour or two of the mornings to myself. Why else would I wake up so early? Plus he only gave me two long naps this week. All this to say our sleep has been a mess and momma cannot get stuff (blog post) done this week. On the bright side, I did get all the clothes washed and unpacked by Tuesday. The house is clean-ish and real meals have been made.

As for this weekend, we don’t have any big plans. A typhoon in coming in which will mean winds and rain for us on Sunday. Our local area has a big festival as well this weekend that I am volunteering to help with. The festival is a huge deal for the base and everyone is stressing on the potential for bad weather. What are your plans this weekend? I’ve love to hear!

Now on to my favorite post almost every week….Friday Faves!

Pumpkin Pudding

friday faves

I am totally not really a big pudding person but OMG this pudding is the BEST! I discovered it the first year we lived in Japan at a coffee shop in the mall. It is a seasonal item so I now look forward to it every fall. It is super thick and sweet but not too sweet (as most Japanese sweets). I’ve also seen a fig flavor in the past but have not seen it this year. This will have to be a weekly purchase for the fall!

Chike High Protein Coffee

While in the States I made a huge Vitacost order so it would all be home when we arrived. Side note: mail takes a week or two to arrive through USPS and a month or two if mailed FedEx or USPS. While trolling the site I run across this protein powder and thought it sounded yummy for the fall. I guess it could be more of a coffee than a protein powder. Either way, it is surprisingly good! I would be cautious though if you are really sensitive to caffeine.

Homemade Nut Butter Cups

Homemade chocolate treats (heck all treats) are my favorite! I seriously love making them and just experimenting in the kitchen. It is something I seriously missed while we were away for a month. Since we’ve been back I have made (and ate) a ton! These pictured are pumpkin flavored and I am in love! The pumpkin freezes so smooth and perfect as well. I have a post drafted to share the recipe next week.

I seriously never thought I would be one of ‘those’ to joined an ‘MLM’ company. And while I kind of has I feel like I kind of have not.Β Beautycounter is much more than just selling products but have a strong mission to change the whole cosmetic industry. I have seriously been blown away this past month while learning more about the company. BONUS! I’ve had the best feedback to include people just saying they ‘love the mascara’ to people saying ‘this has changed my face in only a week’! If you have any questions about the company or joining my team I’d love to answer them for you. Messages me here!

Around the Web

I need to get in all the ice cream before this weather ends…..

This is so true! I missed finding earplugs in the washing machine for 7 months!Β

sweet potato pancakes

Just to make you smile this in apparently the style Mason came up with!

Have a great weekend!

Poor Mason! I bet it’s been so hard getting him back to a normal routine πŸ™
I’m not a pudding person either, but I’ll try anything!
Way to go with your business! Love their mission…I can’t believe how many chemicals we’re exposed to all the time.
    Enjoy your weekend πŸ™‚
