Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Good morning friends! I hope you guys are having a great Labor Day Weekend! We have been going non-stop! I feel so blessed and exhausted all at the same time! It is our last weekend in the States plus everyone is off of work so we are trying to get in all the hugs and smiles while we can. Here is a little recap of our weekend so far….

Friday morning started out as a lazy morning with Mason sleeping in till almost 8 o’clock! This is rare and exciting! Once he was up we went over to my dad’s house to visit with him. Then I helped him get some things checked off his ‘to do’ list while DC took Mason back to his parent’s house for his nap. That afternoon we all got back together at my dad’s with my brother, sister-in-law, and nephew to visit and play. They are the cutest and full of energy!

These boys were everywhere!

This boy’s hair is getting so long and I am just not ready to cut it.

Saturday morning we had another play date but this time with my high school friends. We had a ‘fab four’ group from 1st grade to high school. Out of us four only one still lives in the same town. Two live about two hours away and then you know I live an ocean away. We still remain in contact and try to get together we when I am in town.

This is us back in the day! We totally failed to get a picture this weekend with all the kiddos running around.

Courtney has a 4 month old baby girl. She is the best and sweetest baby! I thought Mason might get jealous but he just wanted to check her cuteness out and then he was on to other things.

Amanda’s girl is the best big sister! Seriously, she will be working with kids one day.

After a couple of hours, the kiddos were getting tired and ready for a nap. I took Mason back to my in-laws to lay him down. He took a short nap (I think we are teething) and was up ready to go again. We went to my grandparents where I failed to take any pictures. I did take this picture of my dad when he was a baby. My MIL thinks Mason favors him and I do not see it, so I had to show her his baby picture.

My dad is the one in the black shirt. Do you see Mason? I think Mason is 80% his daddy and 20% me. I kind of love that!

I had a mom first! DC asked me to go dove hunting with him since we have not been where we could go hunting together in years! After LOTS of thought, I agreed. The first is I knew I would not be there when Mason woke up. Mason has never spent the night away from me. I have only not put him to bed twice and this was the first time I did not get him up from his crib. I honestly do not know why I struggle with these little things. Maybe it is normal or maybe it is because of the pressure I felt while DC was gone and I have not gotten over it. (For those of you that do not know, DC was away with work from the time Mason was 5 months till he was 12 months. All this time Mason and I lived in Japan by ourselves). Plus I still see him as a baby and do not want him to be scared or confused. #momguilt

He had a great time the two hours we were away from him though. I received these two pictures while we were hunting.

Boys loves his food! Especially breakfast!

Feeding his chickens. Those boots though!

While he was having fun for a couple of hours with mamaw and papaw we were having fun as well!

It has been years since we went hunting together! I love spending time with this dude!

The sunrise through the fog was so beautiful! The fog really hurt the hunting day though. We only walked about with 6 total (had 2). It was a fun time spent outside and together though.

That afternoon we had a small cookout at my in-laws in which I was too busy chasing my son around to get many pictures. It was filled with family, friends, and homemade ice cream! What is better?!

That is so cool that your friend group has stayed in touch like that! I don’t as much anymore, but I used to feel really guilty if I wasn’t there to tuck the babies in at night. Hope you have a great day!

They really are the best friends even if we don’t keep in touch as much as we use to.
