My First Blog Post

Welcome to my blog!

I am so excited (a bit nervous as well) to share with you! I have been toying around with the idea of starting a blog for years now. It is a bit intimidating but I am so excited I have finally did it!

I am looking forward to sharing with you all my interests and looking forward to learning about yours as well! I want this blog to be a two way street with lots of interaction!

A little about myself……I am barley holding onto my 20s. I grew up in North Mississippi. I am an outdoor southern girl through and through. Although I must admit I have also picked up from a lot of the cultures I have been around since living in Mississippi.

Our Wedding Day May 2009

I married the love of my life at the age of 21 and moved to Little Rock, Arkansas where his job had located him.

While living there I completed my degree and became a licensed Radiography Technologist. I worked in the catheterization laboratory for a year. I absolutely loved my job and miss it often! Unfortunately, I did not get the opportunity to work their longer because my husband’s job mandated us to relocate.

So surprise surprise when my husband called me while I was at work one day to ask me if I was sitting down. I think I reply ‘shut up’ ‘to where’! LOL I knew it was coming. He then proceeded to tell me Azores, Portugal. After some fast Googling I discovered it was not only to Portugal but a small island two hours from mainland Portugal. I was a bit shocked then started to grow excited.

It was so hard to tell our family goodbye after being able to live relatively close to them.

Almost 4 years after being married we were headed to our next adventure. We lived in the Azores for two years and loved it more than we ever thought we would.

The island is beautiful! The people were so kind! The community we had there was live no other I have ever had the privilege to be a part of.

While surprising the island weather left little to be desired be me personal, we truly left a bit of our hearts on that little island!

So after two years of living in Portugal we were off to our next adventure, the one we are still currently on, to Japan! Basically, we went from living on an 8 by 15 mile island to living just outside the biggest city in the world! Talk about a bit of concert culture shock!

Japan has been good to us though because after a year of trying to start a family we were blessed to find
out we were expecting just a few months after being in Japan.

Then in April 2016 we welcomed our beautiful baby boy! We could have not been more proud and full of joy and love! We named him Mason! You will be hearing sooo much about this little guy on the blog!

Being a wife and mom is my heart! Being with these two makes me understand how one can love so much it hurts!

That brings us to the present. There is a lot of gaps in the middle but I look forward to sharing more with
you soon!

Now tell me about yourself?

How many times have you moved?

I love your story! How neat that you’ve had the opportunity to move around a lot. I’m sure it must be hard to readjust to new cultures and environments, but it’s also pretty cool that you have so much experience!

Welcome to the blog world 🙂

Thank you for the kind words Brittany! It can be difficult being away from family and friends but it is also an amazing experience. I get the opportunity to learn from so many cultures and grow as a person. Plus all the food! =)
