What Up Wednesday- Almost Thanksgiving
Hey Friends! It is almost Thanksgiving and you know what that means…..
Black Friday….all the food and thankfulness! (The day before everyone loses their minds over a sale.) Seriously though, I love Thanksgiving! While Christmas is my favorite holiday I love how Thanksgiving has that Christmas cheer but a bit more stress-free. So before we get off to our Thanksgiving gatherings I am sharing a What Up Wednesday post! Have a wonderful day!

1. What Are We Eating:
So I don’t know what the real name of this is but they are often called “fluffy pancakes”! Whatever they are called they are a-mazing! Mason and I went and had our first one this past week. We shared a meal (which he probably got more of) and then this pancake. One of my favorite things about Japanese food is their sweets are not overly sweet. Also, yes that is ice-cream on the pancake! So yummy!
2. What I’m Reminiscing About:
My baby’s first Christmas!
Isn’t he so cute!?
I hope he loves Santa as much this year as he did last year.
It is so true when they say time goes by so fast with little ones. While I will always treasure Mason’s first Christmas last year, it was a hard year. We were here in Japan alone and Mason even woke up a bit sick on Christmas day. It was a reminder of what the joy of Christmas is really about. This year I am looking forward to a wonderful time with my little family all together. Plus Mason gets it more this year. So brings on all the family traditions and shenanigans!
3. What I’m Loving:
I purchased this GreenLife pan two weeks ago and I love it. It has a ceramic non-stick coating and is manufactured without PFOA. Yay for cleaner cookware. Plus it is dishwasher safe. I have even cooked an over easy egg without oil or butter just to see and it turned out perfect. I have requested the 8″ for Christmas.
4. What I’m Dreading:
I should stop questioning the question because it is always the same. Shocker here but it is……Grad school! I am doubling up this term, so send all the prayers my ways please.
5. What I’m Excited About:
So I have three things I am exited about:
- Thanksgiving! This year we are going to our church for lunch and our first Friendsgiving that evening. I am so thankful to have a family away from family!
- Early Christmas presents!
My new Instant Pot! I’ve been wanting one for a good year now. I almost bought one last year during the Black Friday sale but missed out. This year daddy surprised me with an early present and sent me one. I am so excited to start learning more about how to use it. Any tips?
3. I am also excited about shopping ONLINE for all the sales this weekend! Especially the amazing deals and new sets Beautycounter will be offering! I have socials booked and I am pumped about it! I am in awe of our much my business has grown! Hey, the products just work!
6. What I’m Listening too:
I am may not be listening to this right now but just wait till Friday!
7: What I’m Watching/Reading:
If you have been eating this blog long you know I am all about health and wellness (balanced with ice cream of course). When the health crisis in the United States and since I am finishing my master’s in the field of healthcare I decided to read this book. So far Chris Kresser has such a great insight into the field and the needs of the patents.
All the Christmas movies!
The cheesier the better! I would be even happier if I could get the Hallmark channel. If anyone knows a way to get it overseas help a girl out this season!
8. What I’m Wearing:
9. What I’m Working On:
Getting all our Christmas presents for friends and family wrapped and mailed. #operationparvinchristmas
10. Bonus: Elf On The Shelves Ideas:
So this is our first year to do Elf on the Shelf. I do plan to have our elf (I think his name will be Eddie) do fun and silly things, but he is not going to do things that we ask Mason not to do. The main focus is going to be the elf doing kind acts for us or encouraging us to do kind acts for others. Maybe he will encourage us to make cookies for a friend or leave some money by the vending machine. Just little thoughtful kinds of kindness this holiday season. It is a good reminder for this momma and daddy too ;). I found a great this of ideas here.
Question: Pick 3 and share What’s Up with you!
