Hey Friends! How was your weekend? We celebrated DC’s birthday and spent lots of time outside! It was perfect!

Here is a little recap…

Saturday I was up bright and early at 5 a.m. I need help here…our cat is going meow crazy! The sun rises here about 4:30 so I think that is her problem. She meowed non-stop no matter how many pillows you throw at her no matter how nicely you try to get her to stop! Any advice on this is welcome.

I went downstairs and with the power of coffee finished up my final grade in the grad school class I am taking now. Then when the boys were up we gave daddy cards, played, and FaceTimed with family until nap time.

An hour and a half into nap time the doorbell rang and nap time was over (insert palm in face). We got dressed and headed out for a birthday lunch. DC had requested yakinku so that is what we did.

Birthday boy!

Larabar while we wait…

Rice and kimchi for starters.

After our bellies were full we headed over to a local park DC had found online. It was tucked in behind the library in the middle of the city. It is cool how Japan has these little parks and gardens in the middle of the all the concrete.

Way too much going on for pictures. Speaking of pictures…I remembered to bring my camera but did not check to make sure I put the card back in….. #fail

So IPhone pictures it is.

Always on the go.

baby sliding

It was called the roller park because of all the roller slides.

The best daddy!

These slides go fast! I got a blister on my feet trying to slow us down.

After about an hour or so it was nap time and we head back home. We put Mason down and dug into the birthday cake I had made.

The cake is my grandmother’s recipe and DC’s favorite cake!

The rest of the afternoon was low-key playing and relaxing around the house.

Sunday Lulu (the cat) was a bit better and let us sleep. I still woke up about 5 but Mason slept till 6:45 which might be a record! I love my peace in the mornings! Once the little man is up it is go go go!

His excitement has my heart!

church flow

Then after church, we went to eat Chili’s again for DC’s birthday. This is kind of a big deal because I am one to complain when DC wants to eat out a lot. The quality and the cost of eating out just is not there for me. I said it was his weekend though and I would shut up. Good wifie =)

After lunch, we went home and laid Mason down for his nap. I sat down to start this post and Dixie starting barking at DC walking out the front door and boom nap time over. Twice in one weekend! All momma wanted to do was read a book…..

kid's chalk

So it was outside to play with a fussy tired baby toddler. You might have seen these on Instagram stories.

outside swing

Just a swinging.

So that was our weekend…..

QUESTION: What did you do this weekend? Do you like to eat out?

I always enjoy eating out at least once on the weekend. But I also like having the extra time to cook at home, so it really just depends on what I’m in the mood for. And oh those slides look so fun! They remind me of going to The Discovery Zone when I was a kid.

I agree once a weekend is a good balance. I like trying out all the different foods here. Discover Zone was awesome as a kid! Have a great week!

Your weekend looked so fun!! That park is gorgeous – I struggle to find beautiful ones here in LA to take the girls I nanny for! I had such a great weekend as well, full of pool-time and beach time, so no complaints! I’m sad it’s Monday though…

    Have a great week! 🙂

I totally pictured LA as having the best parks! The pool is always a win though! Thanks and I hope you have a great week as well!

That playground/park looks amazing! My husband would to eat out ALL the time — because I make him eat his veggies — but we usually stick to once a week.
